Braemar House is a private day care centre supporting local members of the community.
We care specifically for those who have mental health problems, physical disabilities, those who are frail or are dependent upon others.
We are proud to have established a special place that provides excellent social care and support.
Services
We are open 5 days a week, each day providing different services for specific needs. Times vary depending on what is required, day care, social groups, lunch and tea clubs and open house coffee shop.
We are closed on bank holidays.
These times may be subject to change.
Please note: In exceptional circumstances alternative hours can be arranged.
Transport
We offer a pick-up and drop-off service from locations within a 5 mile radius of Taunton centre. We pick-up our members from 8:30am and you will be informed of a precise pick-up time on booking.
Please note: our pick-up service is not normally available on Wednesday and Fridays. Please contact us for more information for these days. If you are dropping off or collecting members please adhere to the opening times above.
Toilet assistance
Anyone requiring toileting products, etc, must be supplied with sufficient for the duration of the day and a set of alternate clothing. Naturally, this should be given to the staff discretely.
Medication

Anyone having to take any medication that may require prompting must be discussed with staff and appropriate forms completed. All medication must be clearly marked with the member's name, dose and time.
All medication will be stored in a locked cupboard and staff will remind the member at the appropriate time.
Snacks/Meals
All drinks, snacks and meals are provided in the daily fee. Any special dietary requirements or allergies should be discussed with our staff.
Holidays
Members are able to take two week's holiday a year with no fee payable and a further two weeks with a 50% discount., provided the centre has been given four week's notice. A holiday form is available from the office or can be posted to you.
Health and Safety
To maintain a high standard of hygiene at the centre, staff regularly undertake food hygiene training, thus ensuring they receive all information related to current health and hygiene best practice.
First Aid
Staff are first aid trained and receive regular training updates.
Sickness
If our members are unwell, particularly with an infectious illness, we request that they stay at home until the incubation period has lapsed or that they are well enough to return. If members become ill at the centre we will make the necessary arrangements to return them home safely and next of kin will be promptly informed.
Member Profiles
A folder is kept which contains important information about members and their medical history, etc. This is required in the unfortunate event of an emergency. We also require a photograph of each member in the rare event of someone going missing.
